Meet The Founder
I’m a community strategist, consultant, and changemaker with deep roots in the very neighborhoods I serve. I was raised in — and continue to live and work in — communities that are too often overlooked, disinvested, and underestimated. That lived experience is not just part of my story — it’s my superpower. It gives me a unique lens and unmatched credibility in spaces where trust and understanding matter most.
I bridge worlds. I know what it means to live in poor neighborhoods, and I also know how to sit at the table with funders, developers, and decision-makers to make real change happen. That ability to navigate both sides — with authenticity and strategic clarity — is what sets me apart.
I’ve built my career at the intersection of community, real estate, and equity, driven by both lived experience and professional training. With a degree in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University and a certification from the University of Southern California Ross Minority Program in Real Estate Development, I’ve worked across sectors to bring lasting change to underserved neighborhoods. I began my real estate career at Marcus & Millichap, a national commercial real estate firm, where I learned the fundamentals of investment, development, and deal-making. I later joined APD Solutions Real Estate Group, a firm focused on neighborhood revitalization and economic development, where I worked as a consultant supporting redevelopment efforts in underserved areas across the country.
Over the years, I’ve gained valuable insights through roles with national industry leaders, including the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), as well as through participation on multiple community boards and in several civic leadership programs focused on bridging institutions and communities to create better outcomes. I’m honored to have been recognized for my grassroots leadership with the Central New York Community Foundation’s Grassroots Community Leader of the Year Award and a community award from Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods Today. I currently serve as Board Chair of Light A Candle For Literacy, a children’s literacy initiative that blends creativity, culture, and advocacy, and I also hold a board position with the Helio Health Foundation, supporting behavioral health and recovery services across the region.
Through Harriet 5.0, I’m creating a new model of leadership — one grounded in lived experience, powered by strategy, and committed to creating change that’s measurable, lasting, and truly transformative.
